"we are motionless"

Hotaru no Hikari

So with a new week comes a new drama. Or...at least that's what they say. In reality it's because I really have nothing better to do with my life and when I get extremely bored I resort to watching dramas or reading books. Then you must be wondering, why not read a book instead of waste my time investing in some pointless drama about some unrealistic situation? Well that's because I am actually reading a book (an educational one too).

I'm reading Descartes' Error by Antonio Damasio. Yes, I know. Weird book. It's all about how the mind and body are actually one, material monism as they call it. I'm not reading it necessarily because I believe in it, but simply because it's a rather interesting read. Despite how much I hated Warren Writing, neuroscience is a rather intriguing topic to study. Mind you I'm not particularly fond of Damasio's writing style but hey, we can't be picky about everything. In any case, it's an intersting book so far but it's not a book I can read for four hours nonstop.

Oh, that reminds me, I'm actually reading Pride, Prejudice and Zombies too. Haha...it's a fairly entertaining book, I'll admit. I'm half way through it. But the only problem is reading the book reminded me of how much I didn't like the original Pride and Prejudice. I'm trying, I really am but for some reason books by Jane Austin just don't peak my interest. I'm finding myself skipping through all the non-zombieish parts. Sad, really. In any case, I'm always looking for a new book to read so if you have any suggestions, let me know!! (Oh I've read part of the Alchemist but it was a teaser part. I still have to go to the bookstore. So far though, it looks like an amazing read.)

Any way...what was I talking about? Oh yea. Hotaru no Hikari. It's the new drama that I'm watching. I'm on episode three and I'm thoroughly entertained. Mainly because the main character is sooooo weird. I also find it interesting how, so far at least, the 'rival' isn't really an evil or manipulative person. It's a nice change from all the super dramatic series that always have to have a very 2D antagonist. Hopefully the good qualities will carry through the episodes. I've seen too many dramas that start out well then quickly turn to dust. I have my fingers crossed!

Hooray for dramas and books! The only way for me to do these things is to sacrifice sleep. But it's okay. Who needs sleep....right? O_O!

"this time is ours"
"Here's what I think, Mr. Wind-Up Bird," said May Kasahara. "Everybody's born with some different thing at the core of their existence. And that thing, whatever it is, becomes like a heat source that runs each person from the inside. I have one too, of course. Like everybody else. But sometimes it gets out of hand. It swells or shrinks inside me, and it shakes me up. What I'd really like to do is find a way to communicate that feeling to another person. But I can't seem to do it. They just don't get it. Of course, the problem could be that I'm not explaining it very well, but I think it's because they're not listening very well. They pretend to be listening, but they're not, really. So I get worked up sometimes, and I do some crazy things."
