I found an amazing series last night, manga series that is. Yes, I know, I should have been doing my homework. But it's too late for regrets now!! Besides, I'll be paying for it tonight when I stay up late to finish my lab and study for my quiz.
In any case, back on point. I found an amazing series last night. Now, normally when I come across things like this I would do everything in my power to push you to read it because I'm annoying like that. But I can't do that with this series. Because, you see, I'm not quite sure the series is for everyone.
First off, the series is very...how would one put it...targeted towards male audiences? I don't believe there is an obvious nudity but there's definitely suggestive things along the way. It really isn't
that bad compared to some series out there but it's there and some people aren't fond of it.
Secondly, it is bloody. Very bloody. When I first started reading it the style sort of reminded me of Gantz and if anyone's read that series before you'd know what I mean. And if you haven't, well, it is just a warning. It's nothing super disturbing or horrible (Gantz was worse for me) but given what the whole series is about there are panels that make me skip really fast through it. But then again, I'm sort of a wimp.
Thirdly, this manga deals with fairly sensitive topics. Terrorism, cults and other more subtle, yet still odd, things. I, personally, don't find this to be a problem but it may offend some people.
Finally, this is not a happy manga. Or at least, not compared to others. There is a LOT of backstabbing and betrayal and death. I'm not saying that it's mad depressing and =( =( all the time but it's a very..hm...serious manga? I'm not sure if that's the way to describe it.
But really, none of these points state that it's a bad series rather then it's something not doesn't cater to everyone. It's more of a psychological, dark, dramatic action series. It is amazing though. I love how fast paced it is. There is always something going on and nearly every chapter brings out a new twist making you go, "OMFG WTF?!" In a good way of course.
So, if you're still interested, you should check it out.
