"we are motionless"

A Little Rusty

I think I've forgotten how to socialize properly but the weekend was fun nonetheless.

=)

In other news I think my body's at war with itself. It seem as if it can't decide whether it wants to be sick or not. I go through periods where I feel like I'm getting the flu then suddenly the feeling will disappear and I'll be alright for awhile only for it to return twice as worse. I do hope it's all in my head though. I don't exactly fancy getting sick right now. I just have to make it through the day...if only mental concentration could suppress hot flashes...

And to add in another random tidbit. An excerpt from the infamous Series of Unfortunate Events. I love Mr. Snicket's amazing writing style. Really, if you read through his novels you find yourself learning a lot of new vocabulary. Especially for a children's book. In any case, I was actually listening to the audio version of this book where his play on words is much more confusing/entertaining. Whelps, enjoy!

"Of course, it is quite possible to be in the dark in the dark, but there are so many secrets in the world that it is likely that you are always in the dark about one thing or another, whether you are in the dark in the dark or in the dark not in the dark, although the sun can go down so quickly that you may be in the in the dark about being in the dark, only to look around and find yourself no longer in the dark about being in the dark, but in the dark in the dark nontheless, not only because of the dark, but because of the ballerinas in the dark, who are not in the dark about the dark, but also not in the dark about the locked cabinet, and you may be in the dark about the ballerinas digging up the locked cabinet in the dark, even though you are no longer in the dark about being in the dark, and so you are in fact in the dark about being in the dark, even though you are not in the dark about being in the dark, and so you may fall into the hole that the ballerinas have dug, which is dark, in the dark, and in the park. "

And since we're on a random streak...let's add in some Phil Collins to the mix. I actually like Jaurim's version a bit more then the original. I found it slightly more haunting but perhaps it's just me. I didn't particularly like David Archuleta's version of it. It was too...hm...smooth? I'm not quite sure what the word for it is but I felt like it took away from the message from the song. The song wasn't as powerful as it should have been.

Another Day in Paradise

She calls out to the man on the street
"Sir, can you help me?
It's cold and I've nowhere to sleep,
Is there somewhere you can tell me?"

He walks on, doesn't look back
He pretends he can't hear her
Starts to whistle as he crosses the street
Seems embarrassed to be there...

"this time is ours"
"Here's what I think, Mr. Wind-Up Bird," said May Kasahara. "Everybody's born with some different thing at the core of their existence. And that thing, whatever it is, becomes like a heat source that runs each person from the inside. I have one too, of course. Like everybody else. But sometimes it gets out of hand. It swells or shrinks inside me, and it shakes me up. What I'd really like to do is find a way to communicate that feeling to another person. But I can't seem to do it. They just don't get it. Of course, the problem could be that I'm not explaining it very well, but I think it's because they're not listening very well. They pretend to be listening, but they're not, really. So I get worked up sometimes, and I do some crazy things."
