Now I'll be quite frank with you, I've had a rather rough day today, terrible in fact. In some ways I can't help but wonder if my day is so bad just to balance out how amazing my weekend was. Originally I had intended to utilize this time to rant about this morning's horrendous proceeding of events but after giving it some thought I decided against it. After all, what's the point of beating a dead horse?
The beauty of it all is that in just six hours a new day will begin and all my troubles will just be mere figments of my past. Well, not all my troubles, but you get my point. Right, to move on with my point, if I'm not going to blog about my day then what will I talk about today? Ah, the question I'm sure all bloggers ask themselves more then they would like to admit. Perhaps I should start with my current mafia obsession, or my disappointment in dbsg fans, or maybe I should talk about my recent discovery of Hermitism. The options are endless but I think for today I'll go with a more tame subject. Something along the lines of, well, photography.
Typically after physic class I go in my frantic rush mode in attempt to stealthily sprint across campus to make it to my next class on time. It was different today though. Due to my exam I was left with more then enough time to spare so I took my time strolling along. It was then I noticed something in particular. While gazing at the nearby scenery I spotted a whole

bunch of little bugs hovering above the grass. Now you're probably wondering why the ef I am so amazed at disgusting bugs flying back and forth. To be honest I was perplexed by my fixation as well but if you had seen what I saw, I think you'd understand.
To put it simply, it was a mesmerizing scene, much like those scenes in movies where everything plays in slow motion and dramatic music sounds. The light trickled through the trees creating a natural spotlight where the insects were. They fluttered to and fro in a serene manner with no purpose or direction It almost seemed like a miniature magic act where the performers would disappear into the shadows and magnificently reappear when the light struck them. I'm sure my words do no justice in describing the scene but I do recall my yearn to capture this all on film. Alas, I didn't have my camera with me.
If you know me well then you probably already know I've always enjoyed taking pictures. In fact, back in high school I got extremely excited when it came to the photography portion of my 2D art class. Granted I had to use a crappy disposable camera and my pictures always turned out horrid but I enjoyed it nonetheless. And if photography wasn't such an expensive hobby I probably would have pursued it earlier.
In any case to get around all the fancy wording and little stories my main point here is that I've decided to take an extra class for fun next semester (two extra class actually but that's a story to tell another day). I'm going to take intro to photography focusing on black and which film cameras. Which means I get to make my first 35mm slr film camera purchase! I can feel the excitement bubbling in my stomach. Film cameras have an entirely different appeal then digital ones. If you've ever been in a dark room I think you'll understand what I mean. All I have to do is not remember the horror scenes from
the Shutter and I'll be fine!!! T_T...crap
But what I truly want is an instant Polaroid camera.
But since they stopped manufacturing Polaroid film getting the camera body right now seems like a waste. (Scratch that apparently Polaroid announced they're pushing to start manufacturing more film next year!!) Fuji actually has a line of instant cameras too which I am so tempted to get. Their instax minis are positively adorable but literally cost an arm and leg because of all the film you have to buy. And since I am a poor college student (boo...) I will have to wait.
For now I have my eye on a particular film camera. Not the best, for sure, but so far it seems like a relatively balanced camera, good for beginners. It is, in essence, a baby f100, for those of us who cannot afford the real thing. Being so it definitely isn't a camera to underestimate. Hello Nikon f80, where have you been all my life? ;)
